Managing Sessions
Aloftly provides tools to manage live sessions, monitor participant activity, control the presentation view, review results, and export data.
Session management features are available across all Gust types, including Quiz Gust, Pulse Gust, Bingo Gust, and Raffle Gust.
You can access and manage your sessions from the Dashboard.
Accessing Your Sessions
All sessions are stored in the My Library section of your Dashboard.
Each session displays its current status.
Live
The session is currently active and running.
Ready
The session has been created but is not currently live.
Finished
The session has ended, and the results are available.
From the Dashboard, you can open, edit, duplicate, run, or delete sessions.
Session Lifecycle
Each session moves through three stages.
Creation
You create the session, add content, and configure settings.
Live
The session is active, and participants can join and interact.
Completed
The session ends, and results are saved for review and export.
Sessions can be reused by duplicating or rerunning them.
Host Control Panel
The host control panel lets you manage all aspects of a live session.
From the host control panel, you can:
Open and close questions
Advance through session content
Launch raffles
Call Bingo prompts or numbers
Insert Quick Questions
Remove participants
End the session
The host control panel provides full control of the session experience.
Presentation View
Presentation View is a full-screen display designed for sharing with an audience.
Presentation View can be displayed on:
Projectors
Televisions (via screen share/simulcast)
Shared screens
Virtual meeting platforms
To open Presentation View:
Click Open Presentation View from the host control panel.
Presentation View updates automatically in real time.
Presentation View displays:
Session title
Join instructions and room code
Questions and answer options
Response visualizations
Leaderboards
Bingo progress
Raffle animations
Winner announcements
Presentation View ensures all participants and observers see synchronized content.
Participant Management
Hosts can monitor and manage participants during live sessions.
Host capabilities include:
Viewing participant list
Removing participants using the Remove Player function (generally a small "x" on the right of the player's name in the Host Control Panel)
Monitoring participation activity
Participants join using a room code with shared link or by scanning the assigned session QR code.
Each participant is connected to the session in real time, except when a self-paced Quiz Gust has been established.
Moderation and Response Management
Moderation tools allow hosts to control how responses are displayed.
For Open Text and Brainstorm questions, hosts can:
Review participant responses
Display responses publicly
Hide responses if needed
Moderation helps ensure appropriate and relevant responses are shown.
Moderation is especially useful for:
Large audiences
Public events
Sensitive feedback sessions
Team Management
When Team Mode is enabled, hosts can manage teams within a session.
Hosts can:
Create teams
Assign participants to teams
View team progress and results
Team assignments are included in session reports.
Team Mode is available in Quiz Gust and Pulse Gust.
Session Status and Controls
Hosts can control session flow using the following actions.
Resume
Reopen and continue an active or ready session.
Edit
Modify session content and settings before launching.
Duplicate
Create a copy of a session, preserving all content.
Run Again
Reset a finished session to run it again.
Delete
Permanently remove a session and its data.
These controls are available from the Dashboard.
Reviewing Session Results
After a session ends, results are automatically saved.
You can access results from:
Dashboard → Previous Session → Select Session → View Results
Results include:
Participant responses
Scores for Quiz Gust
Feedback and idea submissions for Pulse Gust
Bingo winners and progress
Raffle winners and prize assignments
Results remain available until the session is deleted.
Exporting Results
Depending on your plan, you can export session results.
Export formats include:
CSV Export
Download participant responses, scores, and session data.
Pring/PDF Report
Download a formatted report with analytics and results. Print or "Save As" a PDF document.
Exports allow you to analyze and share session data outside of Aloftly.
Reusing Sessions
Sessions can be reused to save time and maintain consistency.
To reuse a session:
Duplicate the session from the Dashboard
Edit the copy if needed
Launch the new session
This is useful for:
Recurring meetings
Training programs
Standardized quizzes
Repeat events
Ending a Session
To end a session:
Click End Session in the host control panel.
Ending a session:
Stops participant interaction
Finalizes results
Saves all session data
You can review and export results after the session ends.
