Pulse Gust

Pulse Gust allows you to gather real-time feedback, run polls, collect ideas, and prioritize responses without scoring or competition.

Pulse Gust is designed for surveys, brainstorming, live feedback, and collaborative input. Participants can submit responses and vote on ideas to help identify the most important or popular contributions.

Participants join from their own device and respond in real time or at their own pace.

How Pulse Gust Works

Pulse Gust sessions include three primary components.

Host Control Panel
You create the session, open and close questions, and control the experience.

Participant View
Participants join using a 6-digit room code or shared link and submit responses.

Presentation View
Displays questions, responses, word clouds, and ranked ideas for group viewing.

Pulse Gust does not assign points or calculate scores.

Creating a Pulse Gust Session

To create a Pulse Gust session:

  1. From your Dashboard, select Pulse Gust

  2. Enter a title for your session

  3. Add questions manually, load a template, or generate questions using AI

  4. Configure question settings

  5. Click Go Live to begin a live session, or enable Self-Paced Mode to share the session via link

Participants can join using the room code via shared link or the scannable QR code.

Question Types

Pulse Gust supports multiple question types designed for feedback and engagement.

Multiple Choice
Participants select from predefined answer options.

This or That
Participants select between two options, such as Yes/No or Agree/Disagree.

Open Text / Brainstorm
Participants submit free-form responses such as ideas, suggestions, or feedback. Responses can be displayed as brainstorm boards or word clouds.

Rating Scale
Participants respond using a numeric scale with customizable visual styles.

Pulse Gust does not assign points or rankings.

Idea Voting and Prioritization

Pulse Gust allows participants to vote on submitted responses to help identify the most important or popular ideas.

This feature is available when using Open Text / Brainstorm questions.

Participants can:

Submit their own responses
View responses submitted by others
Upvote ideas they support

Responses are ranked based on participant voting.

This feature is useful for:

Prioritizing improvement ideas
Identifying common concerns
Facilitating group decision-making
Crowdsourcing input from teams or audiences

Hosts can review and moderate responses as needed.

Question Settings

Each question includes configurable settings.

Response Time
Defines how long participants have to respond. Range is 5 to 300 seconds. The default is 60 seconds.

Display Mode
Controls how responses are displayed, including brainstorm board, word cloud, or hidden.

Response Limit
Controls whether participants can submit one response, multiple responses, or unlimited responses.

Allow Multiple Selections
Allows participants to select more than one answer when applicable.

Show Results Live
Displays responses in real time as participants submit answers.

Generating Pulse Content with AI

Pulse Gust includes AI-powered content generation to help you create feedback sessions quickly.

To generate questions using AI:

  1. Open the Pulse Editor

  2. Click the AI Generate button

  3. Enter a prompt describing the session you want to create

  4. Review and edit the generated questions

AI generation creates:

Example prompt where AI creates the full session:

"Create a feedback session to gather ideas for improving customer experience. Include rating scale questions and brainstorm questions where participants can submit and vote on ideas."

Example prompt where you provide the content:

"Create a feedback session using the following topics: onboarding experience, communication clarity, and product usability. Include rating scale and brainstorm questions that allow idea submission and voting."

Important
AI-generated content may contain errors. Always review and validate questions before running a session.

Using Templates

Pulse Gust includes pre-built templates designed for feedback and engagement.

Running a Live Pulse Session

When a session is live, you control the experience using the host control panel.

Available controls include:

Open Voting
Pushes the current question to participants.

Close Voting
Stops accepting responses.

Reveal
Displays response visualizations and ranked ideas.

Extend Timer
Adds additional time for responses.

Next Question
Advances to the next question.

Quick Question
Allows you to create and insert a new question during a live session.

Peek Review
Allows you to preview analytics.

Kick Player
Removes a participant.

End Session
Finalizes the session and saves results.

Some features may require a paid plan.

Team Mode

Team Mode allows participants to be grouped into teams.

Teams can be created and managed by the host.

Team association is included in reports.

Pulse Gust does not assign scores or rankings.

What Participants Experience

Participants join by going to:

Participants can also join by scanning the QR code automatically generated for each session.

Participants can:

Pulse gusts are not scored.
Participate in live or self-paced sessionsParticipants interact in real time during live sessions.

Managing and Reviewing Results

When the session ends:

Click End Session to finalize the session.

Responses and voting data are saved automatically.

You can review and export results from your Dashboard.
